Can I Start My Nashville Pest Control in Autumn?

You can start your Nashville pest control plan in autumn.

Not only that, but with many pests beginning their annual search for winter shelter, now is actually a pretty darn good time to do it.

At Mosquito Squad Plus of Nashville, we understand the persistent idea that pest control is something you have done only in spring and summer. After all, that’s when mosquitoes and bugs are at their worst, right?

Sure, mosquitoes, no-see-ums, and other flying, buzzing insects are highly visible in spring and summer. However, peak times of activity aren’t the only times to consider outdoor pest control. Nashville pests don’t keep a calendar, but they do follow environmental cues.

And this time of year, there’s an increase in flying and terrestrial pests that are making their way to your home for the winter. Fall brings out its own changing cast of characters.

Why Start Pest Control in the Fall?

Outdoor pests respond to shorter days and cooling temperatures. Stink bugs and other overwintering pests start to gather around homes in search of a protected space to spend the colder months. Spiders become particularly noticeable around porches, garages, and other places where their insect prey is plentiful. Fleas and ticks remain forces to be reckoned with well beyond the end of summer.

Meanwhile your home is sitting there, looking mighty warm and inviting.

Getting started with Squad Yard Defender pest control in autumn offers the unique opportunity for us to address immediate pest pressures, while also getting ahead of some of the ones that would very much like to become your winter housemates.

Does Nashville Pest Control Change with the Seasons?

It should – and if you work with Mosquito Squad Plus of Nashville, it does. That’s because the outdoor pests that bug you in July aren’t necessarily the same ones you’ll be dealing with this October, November, and beyond.

That’s why our Squad Yard Defender includes different types of pest control based not only on the pest and your property, but also the time of year.

For instance, as mosquito season winds down, a final mosquito barrier treatment will help control lingering mosquito activity. With that, the application of our 90-day granular pest control can provide targeted protection against pests that try to make your home their winter hideout.

We don’t believe in throwing the proverbial kitchen sink at your yard and calling it pest control. That’s because stink bugs gathering on your home, spiders setting up shop on your front porch, or ticks hanging out among fallen leaves in your yard are really three different conversations. No matter the time of year, Mosquito Squad Plus always customizes our pest control plans according to specific pest pressures.

Should You Wait Until Spring for Nashville Pest Control?

Nope. Starting your Nashville pest control in autumn means you won’t spend the next few months waiting to see what shows up.

What’s more, it establishes a pest control plan that is adaptable to each changing season. Different pests become active, inactive, or are simply more noticeable at different points throughout the year, and your Mosquito Squad Plus pest control plan can adjust accordingly.
