When the station shut down, most of it didn't get developed. Three hundred twenty acres went to the township for park use, two hundred to MetroParks of Butler County, and smaller pieces to a museum, Miami University, and retail. Voice of America MetroPark covers 435 acres today, carries nine miles of trail, and is managed as habitat for grassland birds.

So West Chester ended up with something most suburbs don't have: a continuous block of warm-season grass bounded by Tylersville, Cox, Liberty Way, and Butler-Warren, with neighborhoods built right against the edge. Grass is harborage. That's a different pest problem than standing water, which is why Fairfield and Sharonville read differently than Mason or here.
