The most effective pest control involves help from our customers. Between your treatments, take care of your yard to prevent mosquito breeding grounds and other pest nests from establishing. This could be as simple as taking extra care while completing household chores. 

Remove their hiding spots:

• Keep your lawn short. Bugs have an easier time hiding from the sun in tall grass. Shorter grass allows us to treat closer to the ground, which helps fight off pests.

• Clear out areas where lawn and tree debris accumulate. Ticks thrive in moist, shady areas and tend to die in sunny, dry areas. This includes leaves! As much as we love jumping in leaf piles, so do ticks.

• Fences, brick walls, and patio retaining walls are all popular hiding places. Cracks and crevices are optimal for dirt and dust buildup, making homes for pests to hide.

• Dump out standing water to resolve any unwanted moisture after a heavy rain event. Old water can attract mosquitoes, flies, and other pests. You should double-check your trach cans, swings sets, and anything that water can get into.

These steps will begin to decrease the pest activity in your yard and make our job easier as it creates more accessibility to those small places where bugs will hide.

Our treatments will cover the areas that can’t be completely perfect, such as bushes, trees, the shady areas beneath them, and places that retain water. These are areas we deem high risk for pests as areas they like to harbor and breed in.

• Talk to neighbors. Homes with little space between can mean that mosquitoes breed at a neighbor’s house and affect your property.
