Watch out this Winter

Midwest weather is always confusing our hot and cold months, tricking pests and people alike into preparing for a season not yet here. While it is winter, pests don’t just go away. They seek warmth and food, a place to make a nest for those cold days. If your home is under attack, Mosquito Squad is here to help reestablish your pest-free house.

When people think of pests, our minds go straight to spring with mosquito bites, trails of ants, and stinging wasps. But there are plenty more pests, some that want to invade your home all winter long. Distracted by those leftover webs and the fluffy snow, you might not even notice the larger menaces until you find droppings in drawers and wake to scratching in your walls.

In 2025, we introduced our evolved Home Shield Package, adding Rodent Control, which became its own service near the end of the Summer season. Through these services, we are here to help our customers through the winter with rodents and more, available all winter long.

Home Shield

With indoor and outdoor treatment, encompassing small rodents like mice and rats, to the smallest pests like ants and spiders. Over the winter, we’ll target the warm foundation and entry points of your home, creating a higher assurance that pests stay out.

Inside, we have an open-door policy. If you have pest issues inside, simply notify us. Focus areas could be furnace rooms, basements, dryer vent openings to the outside, and kitchen and bathroom windows and vents. Let us know what pests you’re seeing and where you found them, and we’ll be there to treat. Once inside is clear, we’ll move to outside only treatment until you need us inside.

For rodents, this can be glue or snap traps inside, as well as outdoor bait stations. Our technicians will inspect where best to set the traps in identified concern areas to make sure we catch those critters. 

Rodent Control

By itself, Rodent Control is outside only. This service goes through the winter, while rodents may be looking for new homes. We’ll place and maintain bait stations around your home and property to stop mice and rats before they migrate inside.
