It often starts with a brief assessment of your property. Technicians want to see where the standing water is that mosquitoes use to breed. They also want to find out where the mosquitoes are hiding, those shaded and humid areas they need during the day. This helps them know where and how to treat so it will help the most. It also gives you a chance to point out anything you don’t want treated like a play set, vegetable garden, or pollinator bed.
Then comes the application itself. The technician treats the places where mosquitoes rest. They use a backpack mister to blow treatment deep into areas so mosquitoes can’t simply fly further back to rest (at least not easily). The whole visit is usually fairly quick.
You don't need to be home. Because the work is outdoors, the technician just needs access to the areas being treated, and they'll leave a notice confirming the service was done. It helps to have gates unlocked, pets secured indoors, and their bowls and toys picked up beforehand.
