So it helps to treat vegetation and around areas where standing water sources are. Untreated zones are reservoirs that continuously resupply the population if left unchecked.
There’s also a bit of perception at play here. Mosquito sprays tend to come out around May when mosquitoes start to bite, but their numbers are still low. But as the season runs on and mosquito populations take off, it becomes increasingly clear that the DIY sprays are insufficient. They appear to be wearing off, but were truthfully not doing a lot about the core problem in the first place.
