F.A.Q.

Do technicians have to enter my home for pest control services?

Technicians don't need to enter your home for standard mosquito and tick control. The barrier treatment is applied outdoors, to the yard, foliage, and the exterior of the home, so the work happens entirely outside.

Not everyone can easily coordinate when a service provider wants to access their home. That’s why this is a fair thing to check before you schedule. The good news is that for mosquito and tick control, you don’t need to be at home.

Mosquito and tick control, by its very nature, is outdoor work. The barrier treatment goes on foliage, shrubs, and shaded resting areas of your yard where mosquitoes hide during the hot parts of the day. These also tend to be the places where ticks wait. All of this is outside, and that’s where the technician works.

Perimeter pest control is very similar. When the service targets crawling pests around the structure, the technician treats the exterior perimeter and foundation of the home, as well as any entry points. This is intended to stop pests before they get in.

The only time a technician would need to go inside is if you have specific indoor pest problems. If you have an ant nest inside a wall, or a rodent problem, then you would need to grant access to your home. In those cases, interior service is scheduled with you so someone is home to provide access. But this is entirely separate from mosquito and tick service.

If you're tired of coordinating your schedule around home services, Mosquito Squad of Central New Jersey can help. Mosquito Squad handles mosquito and tick control entirely outdoors with no need to enter your home, helping protect your yard with up to 90% reduction in mosquito activity on a recurring 21-day cycle.
