The Tunnels to Towers Foundation

Mosquito Squad of Southwest and South Central Michigan is always about helping the community by not only protecting your property from mosquitos but also finding ways to give back. This year we partnered with Tunnels to Towers Foundation to give back to those who sacrificed for their country and the first responders who put their lives on the line every day.

The Tunnels to Towers Foundation is a non-profit organization that was founded in 2001 by Frank Siller, the brother of Stephen Siller, a firefighter who died on 9/11. The foundation's mission is to "honor and remember the sacrifice of our nation's first responders and their families by providing mortgage-free homes to Gold Star families, catastrophically injured veterans, and other first responders."

Since its inception, the Tunnels to Towers Foundation has helped over 1,500 families, including building 245 specially-adapted smart homes for catastrophically injured veterans and first responders. The foundation also provides financial assistance to families of fallen first responders, as well as scholarships to children of fallen heroes.

In addition to its direct assistance to families, the Tunnels to Towers Foundation also works to educate the public about the sacrifices of 9/11 and the importance of supporting our first responders. The foundation hosts several events throughout the year, including the 5K Run & Walk NYC, the Tunnel to Towers Bike Tour, and the Tunnel to Towers 9/11 Never Forget Concert.

The foundation's work to help the families of fallen first responders and catastrophically injured veterans is truly inspiring. The foundation is a shining example of how we can all come together to support those who have sacrificed so much for our country.

Mosquito Squad of Southwest and South Central Michigan has promised to donate a percentage of our earnings to support the foundation and its efforts. We also have added some new graphics to our trucks and uniforms to spread awareness of the foundation.
