Dear Customer:

Karyn Brown here, the owner of Mosquito Squad of Austin. It has been my great pleasure to provide mosquito control for you. Thank you for your business.

As a locally owned business we, like many, are striving to keep our employees working, keep our customers happy and keep both employees and customers safe.

Because of this, I wanted to provide you with an update on the current state of business at Mosquito Squad as it relates to the COVID-19 outbreak. As you know, we are in uncertain times and we are learning more each and every day.

First, we are open and operating and will continue to do so as long as it is safe. Pest control is considered an essential service, and as such we will be able to continue working during the shelter in place order. We will continue to follow the guidelines issued by the counties in which we operate.

Second, your safety is of our utmost concern as a service provider. Our procedure is to ring the bell or knock when we arrive at your home. We will continue to do this, but we will no longer wait to see if anyone answers. We will continue to email a day ahead of treatment and this year we have implemented an automatic text ahead for all customers. We want to give you a final alert that we are there so that no one is surprised to see us in the yard, but there is no need for you to answer the door.

Third, we have taken steps to ensure a safe work environment for our technicians, to minimize any risk to themselves or to customers. Our technicians have been instructed to take these common-sense precautions:

  • Only one technician per truck (this means that you may see more than one truck arrive for your service)
  • Stay at home if sick or exhibiting any symptoms
  • Limit contact with customers (no waiting at the door for a response to knock)
  • Wash hands frequently and no handshakes
  • Notify a supervisor immediately if there is any contact with someone who may be sick

Finally, we are staying on top of the latest developments through the Centers for Disease Control and World Heath Organization. To date, there has been no information or evidence to suggest that COVID-19 can be transmitted by mosquitoes. We are also monitoring all of the information at state and county level.

We thank you for your business and appreciate your understanding during this time. We hope for your continued health and safety.

Sincerely,

Karyn Brown
