If you’re anything like me, you find yourself thinking… “I know I’ve got to get this yard trimmed and under control – but when is the best time (for the plant) to do it?”

Below are a few tips I pulled from Good Housekeeping on how to get your yard in tip-top shape!

Early Spring:

  • Ornamental Grasses
  • Semiwood Perennials
  • Broad-leaved evergreens
  • Summer-Flowering Trees, Shrubs Vines, Hydrangea and Roses

Spring/Early Summer:

  • Evergreen Shrubs
  • Spring-flowering Shrubs

Midsummer/Fall

  • Flowering Perennials and annuals

Winter

  • Deciduous and evergreen trees, crab apples and other pest-prone plants.
