CDC Issues Vector-Borne Disease Report! Temperatures are just warming up for us here at The Squad CT, NY,  & NJ and the The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released big news this week!  Their report, published on Tuesday stated the number of people getting vector-borne diseases – from tick, mosquito and flea bites has more than TRIPLED in recent years.  The organization added, “The numbers on some of these diseases have gone to astronomical levels.”   More than 640,000 cases have been reported in the United States between 2004 and 2016.

In addition, 9 new germs spread by mosquitoes or ticks have been discovered or introduced since 2004.  The CDC won’t give exact reasons for the increase but one factor could be warmer temperatures (global warming?). It’s noted, we aren’t doing enough to prevent the spread of these diseases and  the report details steps YOU can take on a daily basis to keep your family safe from these vector-borne diseases.  Here at Mosquito Squad, we are here to help too and we’ve put together our own checklist for your yard to keep it pest free.
