Franchising has become an increasingly popular business model over the last few decades. It’s so popular because it allows entrepreneurs to own and operate their own business, with the support and guidance of an established brand. Although franchising was initially a male-dominated industry, the landscape has changed, and more and more women are becoming successful franchise owners.
According to a report by Forbes, they found that over the past decade, there has been a 24% increase in women-owned franchise businesses. Of all new franchises opened in the past 24 months, 41% are women-owned businesses. This represents a substantial increase from previous years and is a clear indication that women are becoming more involved in franchising.
At Mosquito Squad, we are honored to have women franchise owners that have shown dominance in the industry. One of which, Capricia, has been with Mosquito Squad for 7 years. She wanted to own a business that solved a problem in her community, and she felt Mosquito Squad did just that.
One of the reasons for this increase in Mosquito Squad female franchise ownership is the availability of our resources and support networks. We have a proven business model in place that gives each franchise owner a structure to follow in order to have the best chance of success.
Additionally, franchising with Mosquito Squad means joining a support network that will help women balance the unique challenges of business ownership and family life. A strong and supportive community of like-minded peers is a perk that many of our franchise owners had never experienced while working the typical corporate jobs.
While not totally eliminating the risk of entrepreneurship, the resources and support networks we offer give franchise owners an opportunity to chase their dream. It’s undeniable that women are making significant strides in the franchising industry, and at Mosquito Squad we can’t wait to welcome our next group of franchise owners to Squad School. And if the trend continues we look forward to more women bringing The Squad to a community near them.
